Severn Wye Energy Agency can help reduce your energy consumption and costs with an energy audit of your business. As an independent not-for-profit organisation, we offer the service at-cost, with a fixed price of £500 for businesses with an energy spend below £20,000 per year. Above this level, the cost of the service is set at 2.5% of your annual energy spend. If we cannot identify quantified savings of at least 15%, then there will be NO charge.

Severn Wye has already worked with over 250 businesses in the area, and businesses to date have on average had 30% savings on energy consumption and cost identified. The savings could thus quickly recoup the cost of the service, and continue to save you money for many years thereafter!

Our service starts with analysis of your billing data, and then includes a detailed site survey, a face to face presentation of our findings and recommendations in a detailed written report. You will be provided with a simple energy action plan, broken down into no cost, low cost and capital cost measures.

A whole range of no cost and low cost measures can be simply and effectively introduced to make a real difference to your bills. Many measures have payback times of one year or less.

Once the survey and report has been produced, additional follow-up support is available, to investigate in more detail areas of specific interest. For the larger measures, we offer support in accessing funding, low-interest loans and tax incentives to invest. All follow-on support services are available at a cost of £300 (+VAT) and can be taken up as a standalone support package. The additional services include:

  • Renewable energy preliminary studies, including scenarios outlining investment and returns
  • Detailed lighting, heating (including flue gas analysis), or building fabric insulation analyses
  • Compressed air leak detection surveys, using specialist equipment
  • More general staff awareness-raising training and energy campaigns
  • Identification of installers to obtain like-for-like quotations for works
